A hardscape is only as good as its base. We dig down to undisturbed soil, lay proper gravel and screening, and compact in lifts before a single paver goes down. Then we use polymeric sand on joints so weeds don't come back. The patio we build today should look the same in 2046.

What type of pavers do you recommend for Alabama weather?
Concrete pavers with proper base prep handle freeze-thaw and clay expansion well. Flagstone and travertine work on patios with good drainage. We match material to your budget, style, and how the yard drains.
How long does a patio installation take?
Most residential patios take three to five days — excavation, base compaction, paver lay, and joint sand. Retaining walls or fire pits add a day or two. We leave the site clean every night.
Do you handle drainage and grading for patios?
Always. Madison County clay expands and holds water. We grade for runoff, add weeping drainage where needed, and compact the base in lifts so pavers don't shift after the first hard rain.
How deep do you dig for a retaining wall base?
Below the frost line with a compacted gravel footer — typically 8 to 12 inches depending on wall height and soil. Segmental block walls on clay need a wider base than most DIY guides suggest.
